In response to a pre-budget survey conducted across India in January 2022, more than 53 percent of the participants were against the government increasing its spending on tax reductions to large corporations and the extremely wealthy within the country. It was also found that respondents with a monthly household income higher than 100 thousand Indian rupees were some of the strongest dissenters of this plan.
